Job Summary:
The Logistics Services Professional at our engineering consultancy oversees and coordinates logistics and supply chain activities to support project execution. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient flow of engineering projects’ materials, equipment, and resources.
Responsibilities:
Procurement and Vendor Management: Manage procurement processes, including sourcing, vendor selection, negotiation, and contract management, to secure materials, equipment, and services needed for projects.
Inventory Control: Monitor and maintain inventory levels, ensuring that suitable materials and equipment are available when needed while minimizing excess inventory.
Logistics Coordination: Plan, coordinate, and oversee the transportation and delivery of materials, equipment, and personnel to project sites, ensuring timely and cost-effective logistics.
Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure the materials and equipment meet project requirements and industry standards.
Cost Control: Manage logistics and procurement budgets, optimize costs, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Supplier Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and service providers to ensure reliable and efficient supply chain performance.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of logistics and procurement activities, generate reports, and analyze data to identify areas for improvement.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to logistics, procurement, and materials handling.
Safety: Promote and enforce safety protocols and procedures for materials handling, transportation, and equipment operation.
Project Support: Collaborate with project managers and engineers to meet project requirements, support project schedules, and address logistics and procurement needs.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CSCP, CPIM, or CPM) are a plus.
Proven experience in logistics and supply chain roles, preferably in the engineering or construction industry.
Proficiency in logistics and procurement software, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and data analysis tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work in cross-functional teams.
Project management skills, including managing multiple logistics and procurement projects simultaneously.
Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality logistics services.
Knowledge of industry-specific logistics and procurement practices, regulations, and best practices. Familiarity with international logistics and import/export processes is a plus.
