Responsibilities:
Structural Design: Develop and design structural systems and components, including beams, columns, foundations, and lateral load-resisting systems, based on project requirements, codes, and industry standards.
Analysis: Conduct structural analysis and calculations to ensure the safety and stability of structural components, considering factors such as wind, seismic loads, and structural behavior.
Documentation: Create detailed structural drawings, plans, and specifications using computer-aided design (CAD) software to convey design intent.
Material Selection: Select appropriate structural materials and construction methods, ensuring compatibility and compliance with project needs and budget constraints.
Code Compliance: Stay current with structural engineering codes, regulations, and industry standards and ensure that all designs and installations meet these requirements.
Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary project teams, including architects, civil engineers, and mechanical engineers, to coordinate and integrate structural systems with the overall project design.
Project Management: Manage the structural aspects of projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and quality control, to meet project goals and deadlines.
Testing and Inspection: Oversee structural testing, inspections, and quality control to ensure components’ structural integrity and performance.
Problem Solving: Identify and resolve structural engineering issues and challenges that may arise during project execution.
Client Communication: Maintain effective communication, providing updates on project progress, addressing client concerns, and managing client expectations.
